TALKS:

11am-11.45am: Why You Don’t Need Dairy
Tony Wardle, Associate Director of Viva! and the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
A compelling talk revealing the shocking health consequences of consuming cow’s milk and dairy products. Also exposes the myth that calcium is needed for healthy bones.

12pm-12.45pm: Superfoods: Defeating Disease Through Diet
Amanda Woodvine, Nutritionist, the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
A down to earth look at the latest research on how dairy, meat and fish impact on our health; and tips on preventing and overcoming Western diseases such as obesity, cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Includes tips from the V-Plan Diet.

1pm-1.45pm: Going Veggie – the Way to Health, Happiness and Better Sex!
Tony Wardle, Associate Director of Viva! and the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
A talk about how going veggie or vegan will improve your health, make you happier by saving animals and give a great big boost to your love life! Also practical tips on how to make the change.

2pm-2.45pm: Fashion Show
Ethical fashion show with clothing and accessories from Enamore, Bourgeois Boheme, Viva! and the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation.

3pm-3.45pm: Soya Saga – The Health Benefits and Supposed Risks of Soya
Amanda Woodvine, Nutritionist, the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
The scientific evidence on the health impact of soya. Amanda sets the record straight.

COOKERY DEMOS:

11.30am-12.15: Lunch On! Low Fat, High Flavour Easy Lunches
Jane Easton, Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
A demonstration on how to prepare Italian White Bean & Tomato Soup – so very easy, quick and surprisingly good – and Superbowl Salad, a creative and lovely way to use up cooked wholegrains.

12.30pm-1.15pm: Devilishly Simple Seitan
Sue Harris, Vegetalia Ltd
Sue will demonstrate the flexibility of cooking with seitan, showing how to create antipasti options such as grilled aubergine, tomato and marinated seitan – and other simple appetizing dishes.

1.30pm-2.15pm: Superfoods Express
Jane Easton, Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
Pulses (peas, beans and lentils) are nutritional powerhouses – packed with protein, fibre, iron and other minerals, whilst being low in fat. The VVF will show you how to cook them by preparing spicy beanburgers and a quick and easy lipsmacking chocolate mousse.

3.30pm-4pm: High on Taste, Low on Waist
Jane Easton, Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
Love to eat more healthily but can’t quite find the time? The hectic modern lifestyle needn’t mean suffering on the health stakes. Did you know that cutting out meat could cut your chances of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer – and could even add years to your life expectancy? Watch as Jane gives two old favourites a slimming meat and dairy-free makeover.

4pm: End of the Show
