An overwhelming amount of scientific research shows that dairy products are not beneficial for bones in the long term and calcium supplements won’t prevent osteoporosis. However, diet and lifestyle are the two critical factors in the development and maintenance of strong bones and this lecture will explain and illustrate what really matters when it comes to bone health.

Professor Jane Plant CBE (DSc, CEng) is a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and best-selling author of Your Life in Your Hands and Understanding, Preventing and Overcoming Osteoporosis.

Veronika Powell MSc is a Senior Health Researcher for Viva! Health.
